Kiln Terms of Use

Version 1. In effect from 5 November 2026.

Kiln is made by Arvin Medina. These terms apply when you install or use Kiln. If you don't agree, please don't install or use it.

1. Using Kiln

Kiln is free to use, at your church, organization or anywhere else. You may not sell it or pass it off as your own. Please share the download page with others instead of giving out copies.

2. Your content

Your songs, sermons, pictures and videos stay yours. You're responsible for having the rights to everything you show or stream with Kiln, including song licenses such as CCLI, and any licenses you need for streaming.

3. Privacy

Kiln has no accounts and no analytics. Your library stays on your computer.

Kiln does use the network in two ways:

• Updates: it contacts GitHub to check for new versions, and downloads one if you choose to update. GitHub can see ordinary connection details, such as your IP address.
• NDI: it sends the picture from your main screen across your local network. Other devices on that network may be able to see and receive it. You can turn this off in Setup.

If you email me or open an issue on GitHub, I'll see what you send me.

4. Importing from ProPresenter

Kiln can read a ProPresenter library that you already have, and it doesn't change those files. You're responsible for following your own agreement with Renewed Vision. ProPresenter is a trademark of Renewed Vision. Kiln isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Renewed Vision.

5. Updates and changes

Kiln asks before it updates. I may change or stop offering Kiln at any time. If these terms change, the new version will show you the new terms.

6. NDI

Kiln includes NDI® software from Vizrt NDI AB, which is covered by these conditions. You agree not to, and not to try to:

• modify the NDI SDK, NDI products, or any part of them
• reverse engineer, disassemble or recompile them, or any protocols they use, whether sent over a network or used inside a computer
• get around any technical limits in them
• remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notices or labels in them

Vizrt NDI AB and its licensors give no warranties of any kind for Kiln or the NDI software. To the extent the law allows, they aren't liable for any damages, whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential, arising from your use of Kiln.

You agree to follow all relevant export laws and regulations of the United States, and not to export Kiln or any part of it, directly or indirectly, in violation of US law.

If you use Kiln to develop another product, that product must follow the NDI SDK license and stay fully compatible with NDI, and your own end user license must include the terms of this section.

7. Other software

Kiln is built with other software that has its own licenses. They're listed in Setup under About, and in the files installed with Kiln.

8. No warranty

Kiln is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. It may have bugs, and it could stop working during a service. Please test it before you rely on it, and keep your own backups.

To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any loss or damage from using Kiln, including a service being interrupted or files being lost. Nothing here removes rights that you can't give up under the law where you live.

9. The Kiln name and logo

The Kiln name and logo belong to Arvin Medina. Please don't use them in a way that suggests I made or endorse something I didn't.

10. Stopping, and which law applies

You can stop using Kiln at any time by uninstalling it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines.
